Softball Recap: Standing Bear Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Standing Bear, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lincoln Northwest Falcons on Saturday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Maddie Kulhanek looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Harper Svendsen was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ryann Dailey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

With the victory, Standing Bear broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-7. As for Lincoln Northwest, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coincidentally, Standing Bear and Lincoln Northwest will both be playing Elkhorn North the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face the Wolves at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Grizzlies will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
