Cornerstone Prep Academy is a perfect 3-0 against Hearts Academy since February of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Cornerstone Prep Academy will look to defend their home field against the Hearts Academy Panthers at 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Cornerstone Prep Academy came up short against Cherokee Christian and fell 13-9. Cornerstone Prep Academy hasn't had much luck with Cherokee Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Isaiah Stahl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleson Ruplin, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Hearts Academy entered their tilt with Covington Academy on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Chalie Bill made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bill was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-1. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Hearts Academy got a massive performance out of Gavin Dyson, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Dyson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Jameson Wood was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Hearts Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive games.
Hearts Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cornerstone Prep Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hearts Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 13.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Cornerstone Prep Academy beat Hearts Academy 8-5 when the teams last played last Tuesday. Will Cornerstone Prep Academy repeat their success, or does Hearts Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
