Softball Recap: O'neill Has No Trouble Against Boone Central

O'Neill never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Boone Central Cardinals as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Rylee Selby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Selby was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 matchups.

In other batting news, O'Neill got a big performance out of Harley Kinnison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave Kinnison a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Blackburn, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

O'Neill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boone Central struck out eight times.

O'Neill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Boone Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

O'Neill has already played their next contest, a 14-2 victory against South Sioux City on the 30th. As for Boone Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-5 win against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on the 29th.
