Basketball Recap: Ava Saleme's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Penn Cambria over Tyrone

Penn Cambria was the 65-42 winner over Tyrone when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Penn Cambria Panthers fell to the Tyrone Golden Eagles 56-50.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Saleme, who posted 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Saleme a new career-high in steals. Rachel Fisher was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Penn Cambria has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Tyrone, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

While Penn Cambria had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
