Baseball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Takes a Loss

Pinecrest Academy and Creekside Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Pinecrest Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Paladins have suffered since March 12, 2024.

Matthew Mitchell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Anderson Proctor, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Pinecrest Academy and nudges their season record down to 19-5. As for Creekside Christian Academy, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-4.

While Pinecrest Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
