Foothill had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the West Valley Eagles by a score of 58-48 on Saturday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

West Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Coonfield, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Morton, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 boards.

Foothill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-51 victory against Mazama on the 4th. As for West Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-37 win against Colusa on the 1st.
