Football Recap: Kingman Skates Past Belle Plaine with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Garden Plain, Kingman was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Belle Plaine Dragons 37-7. The Eagles' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Birkenbaugh, who threw for 142 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 53 yards on only five carries. Birkenbaugh's passing game has become a key predictor of the Eagles' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise. Gabriel Andersen was another key rusher, rushing for 128 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kingman was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belle Plaine only rushed for 49.

Kingman's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Belle Plaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Kingman has already played their next game, a 34-6 loss against Haven on the 24th. As for Belle Plaine, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-8 defeat against Douglass on the 24th.
