Softball Recap: Baker Comes Up Short

Baker extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 10-0 to the Northview Chiefs. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Gators were not able to get on the board.

As for Northview, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Northview's part, Daviona Randolph was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Randolph has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Avery Stuckey was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Riley Brooks, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Baker didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-7 win against Paxton on the 26th. As for Northview, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-3 loss against Pace on the 26th.
