Basketball Recap: Everett's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Everett's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. Their2024 ended with a 56-41 defeat against the Penns Manor Comets. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Comets are ranked 66th).

Despite the loss, Everett still got an impressive performance from Jade Colledge, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 19 points. With that strong performance, Colledge is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Morgan Bowser was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Penns Manor, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everett has already played their next contest, a 50-40 defeat against Portage on the 27th. As for Penns Manor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-39 win against Central Cambria on the 27th.
