Basketball Recap: Mar Vista Takes a Loss

Mar Vista lost against Southwest SD back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mar Vista Mariners took a 40-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest SD Raiders. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Mar Vista lost, don't look at Allyson Bell. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points.

Southwest SD's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Kim-Cardenas led the charge by putting up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ziara Rosa, who scored ten points.

Mar Vista's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Southwest SD, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mar Vista will square off against San Ysidro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest SD, they will head out to square off against Sweetwater at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
