Basketball Game Preview: Coudersport Falcons vs. Port Allegany Gators

The Coudersport Falcons will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Port Allegany Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Coudersport didn't have too much trouble with Ridgway as they won 42-25.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coudersport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Fink, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 21 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Laura Dunn, who posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Port Allegany put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-22 victory over Smethport. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Gators this season.

Port Allegany's win came from a few key players Coudersport will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brynn Evens, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Moses, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Port Allegany's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Coudersport, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Coudersport has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Port Allegany struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Coudersport came up short against Port Allegany when the teams last played back in January, falling 41-32. Can Coudersport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
