Football Recap: Clay Center's Rushing Attack Does It Again

Clay Center barely beat Marysville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 33-7 on Friday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Clay Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Leitzel out in front who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Those 119 rushing yards gave Leitzel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eisaac Girton, who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Clay Center was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Clay Center's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Marysville, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

As of now, neither Clay Center nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
