Softball Game Preview: Harrah Panthers vs. Jones Longhorns

Harrah and Jones are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but likely not for long. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrah hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Harrah turned things around against McLoud on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Redskins 2-1.

Raelee Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, Bailey Malone and Ava Barber did most of the damage at the plate: Malone went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base, while Barber went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jones fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Kiefer on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Longhorns have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Harrah's victory bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Jones, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
