Poudre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Windsor Wizards, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Impalas of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Poudre was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Windsor work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-8, 25-16.

Brooklyn Brubaker paced Poudre's offense, picking up six kills. Brubaker got some help from Kathryn Rizza and her ten assists. Finally, Maggie Foster kept Poudre's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Windsor's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hallie Burroughs, who had four digs and four aces. Burroughs is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Smiley, who had 17 digs.

Poudre's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Windsor, their record is now 8-3.

Poudre and Windsor should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Impalas (ranked 83rd) will meet Bear Creek (ranked 305th) at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Windsor will take on Greeley West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (23 vs. 261).
