Baseball Recap: Fullerton Victorious

It's playoff time, and Fullerton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Corona del Mar Sea Kings 7-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Zayyir Martinez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Delgadillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Park, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Fullerton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fullerton's record is now 17-12. As for Corona del Mar, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.
