Basketball Recap: Bonita Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Bonita had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Glendora Tartans with a sharp 45-25 victory. This was a revenge game for the Bearcats: when they faced off against the Tartans back in January, they had to take a 40-34 loss.

Bonita's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Uballe, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and six boards. Those six rebounds gave Uballe a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Mercado, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Bonita was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glendora only racked up three assists.

Despite the loss, Glendora still got an impressive performance from Ronnie Herrmann, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was Herrmann's third in a row with at least ten points.

Bonita's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Glendora, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.

Bonita and Glendora should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Bonita will face off against Ayala at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 340 places (82 vs. 422). Bonita is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Glendora (ranked 175th) will meet Walnut (ranked 439th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
