Baseball Recap: Islands Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

After losing to Bryan County the last time they met, Islands decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Sharks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Redskins a 6-0 shutout on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Dylan Stewart was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Islands is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-17 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason McLaughlin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Islands lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Islands' record now sits at 10-17. As for Bryan County, they dropped their record down to 15-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Islands will head out to face off against Groves at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bryan County, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Bluffton at 6:00 p.m.
