Basketball Game Preview: Miami Vandals vs. Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes

The Miami Vandals will face off against the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Miami comes in on ten and Arizona Lutheran Academy on 12.

Last Monday, Miami rang in the new year with a 56-48 victory over Fountain Hills.

Miami's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tamia Pietila, who went 8 for 18 on her way to 20 points in addition to six steals and three blocks. Pietila has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 16 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetria Dosela, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, Arizona Lutheran Academy humbled Santa Cruz Valley with a 60-8 victory. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Arizona Lutheran Academy's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.1 points. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
