Basketball Recap: Lowell Takes a Loss

Lowell lost against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lowell Cardinals'2024 ended with a 60-45 defeat against the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Fightin' Irish are ranked 23rd).

Lowell has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their record is now 9-1.

When Lowell and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lowell will try to stop Washington's three-game winning streak when the meet at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will challenge Archbishop Riordan and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
