Basketball Recap: Orange Comes Up Short

Orange lost against La Quinta back in November of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Orange Panthers had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the La Quinta Aztecs. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Katie Nguyen was nothing short of spectacular for La Quinta: she went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points and three steals. Nguyen is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Katelyn Vo was another key player, putting up six points along with nine boards and three blocks.

Orange's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for La Quinta, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Orange will welcome Santiago at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Quinta, they and Torrance will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. La Quinta's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Torrance's offense will have their work cut out for them.
