Soccer Game Preview: Homestead vs. Burlingame

The Homestead Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Burlingame Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Homestead's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Homestead saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They and Piedmont Hills finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Homestead's goal came courtesy of Kaelyn Walukiewicz, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Burlingame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Los Gatos, falling 4-1. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Homestead's draw makes their record 0-2-2 this season. As for Burlingame, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Homestead was able to grind out a solid victory over Burlingame when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 3-1. Does Homestead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burlingame turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
