Softball Game Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Apalachee Wildcats

The Jefferson Dragons will square off against the Apalachee Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson will be strutting in after a win while Apalachee will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Jefferson made easy work of Woodward Academy and carried off a 16-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dragons.

KristiAna Truelove looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Jenna Rapp was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ally Baldwin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Apalachee had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 6-1 to Bethlehem Christian Academy on Wednesday.

Jefferson couldn't quite finish off Apalachee when the teams last played back in August of 2022 and fell 5-3. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
