Softball Recap: Atkinson County's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lanier County, Atkinson County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Montgomery County Eagles 15-2. The game was the first time the Rebels have beaten the Eagles on their field since September 27, 2018.

Atkinson County's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Montgomery County, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atkinson County will welcome Clinch County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montgomery County, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against McIntosh County Academy at 4:00 p.m. The Buccaneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
