Soccer Recap: Grant Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Grant was not quite Verdugo Hills's equal in the second half on Monday. They came up short against the Verdugo Hills Dons, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 804th, while the Dons are ranked 352nd).

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Verdugo Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-5-2 record this season.

Grant will head out on the road to square off against Arleta at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Verdugo Hills, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Chavez at 4:00 p.m. Verdugo Hills is facing Chavez at the right time seeing as Chavez is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
