Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sinton walked away with it. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-21 victory over the Jarrell Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Mykha Green was his usual excellent self, rushing for 301 yards and five scores while picking up 13.7 yards per carry. Green is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 171 every time he's taken the field this season. Marcos Zapata was another key back, rushing for 142 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 428 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Another reason for the win was Sinton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Ace Fuentes was the leader with two.

Despite the loss, Jarrell still got an impressive performance from Joseph Travis, who rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

The win was the fifth in a row for Sinton, bringing their record up to 11-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Jarrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.

As of now, neither Sinton nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
