Recap: Vista Murrieta Broncos vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs
The Vista Murrieta Broncos fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 63-51 win over Rancho Verde on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Vista Murrieta also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.
Vista Murrieta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kohen Marshall led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Marshall has scored at least 25% of Vista Murrieta's points. Another player making a difference was Aniah Balos, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Vista Murrieta's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Rancho Verde, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista Murrieta and Temecula Valley will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Temecula Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vista Murrieta in California (Temecula Valley is ranked 311th, while Vista Murrieta is ranked 743rd). As for Rancho Verde, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against JW North at 6:00 p.m.
