Recap: Arrowhead Christian Eagles vs. Aquinas Falcons

After soaring to 62 points the game before, the Arrowhead Christian Eagles were a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Aquinas at home and fell 58-14. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arrowhead Christian in their matchups with Aquinas: they've now lost seven in a row.

Arrowhead Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keira Caparas, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Caparas hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for three straight games.

Even though they lost, Arrowhead Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aquinas only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Breanna Bates was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Aquinas. Bates has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times she's played. Madeleine De Kodia was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and four steals.

Arrowhead Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Aquinas, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Arrowhead Christian will head out on the road to face off against Loma Linda Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loma Linda Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Arrowhead Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Aquinas, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ontario Christian at 6:00 p.m. Aquinas is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
