Baseball Recap: Glenn Comes Up Short

Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Illiana Christian Vikings.

Colin Hamel got Glenn off to a strong start despite the final result, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Hamel a new career-low.

Glenn's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Illiana Christian, they moved to 16-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenn will welcome Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Illiana Christian, they will face off against Munster at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
