Tift County proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Richmond Hill Wildcats. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Richmond Hill's batters probably weren't too happy with Lily Robinson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Robinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cora Beth McCrary, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Tift County's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Richmond Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
