Softball Recap: Hawkinsville Red Devils vs. Montgomery County Eagles
Hawkinsville was the 9-1 winner over Montgomery County when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rheaghan Powers put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. Powers was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Powers wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Camille Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Alyssa Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Hawkinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Montgomery County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-10.
