Baseball Recap: Clyde Comes Up Short

Margaretta hit Clyde with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Fliers lost 12-4 to the Polar Bears. If the Fliers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Polar Bears when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Payton Hill made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Clyde has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Margaretta, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clyde will welcome Van Buren at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Margaretta, they will host Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
