Softball Recap: Clopton Victorious

After losing to Wright City the last time they met, Clopton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 3-1. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly two runs.

Ashlyn Noah was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Noah was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Stribling, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That hit was her first of the season.

Clopton now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Wright City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Clopton will welcome Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wright City, they will face off against Hermann at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Bearcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
