Riverview Gardens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Bayless Bronchos, falling 21-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Breayra Lampley was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Lampley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Janye Gibson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Riverview Gardens' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bayless, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Coming up, Riverview Gardens will take on Hazelwood East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bayless, they will face off against Hazelwood Central at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.8 runs per game on average), something the Bronchos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
