Recap: Rodriguez Mustangs vs. Manteca Buffaloes
The Rodriguez Mustangs lost against the Manteca Buffaloes back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Rodriguez falling 58-43. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 795th, while Manteca is ranked 160th).
It was another big night for Jada Ikharo, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds for Manteca. Ikharo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Izabella Sanchez, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Rodriguez's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Manteca, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Rodriguez's road trip will continue as they head out to face Armijo at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Manteca won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th.
