Softball Recap: Arlington Takes a Loss

Arlington extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pierce Bluejays. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Tessa Spivey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Savannah Lang, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Pierce, they now have a winning record of 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 26, 2024.

On Pierce's side, Jessa Kraft was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Skrdla, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Arlington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-5 win against Ponca on the 23rd. As for Pierce, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 victory against Ord on the 23rd.
