Baseball Recap: Hercules Has No Trouble Against Kennedy

While Hercules put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Kennedy. The Hercules Titans were the clear victor by a 14-0 margin over the Kennedy Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Nathaniel Melgoza made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hercules is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-4-1 otherwise. Melgoza was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Hercules got a massive performance out of Wynston Bishop, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Bishop has posted since back in April of 2024. William Hobbs was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Hercules' victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Hercules will welcome St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hercules' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so St. Patrick-St. Vincent's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kennedy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hercules at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
