Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Woodward Academy

With a playoff win on the line, Woodward Academy rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Creekview Grizzlies. The win was familiar territory for the War Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Dominic Veneri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Myles Tate was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Ray, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Woodward Academy's victory bumped their record up to 25-7. As for Creekview, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Grizzlies beat Woodward Academy by a score of 8-7 later that day.
