Volleyball Recap: Eagle River Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Nome-Beltz

Eagle River faced Nome-Beltz in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wolves fell just short of the Nanooks by a score of 2-1. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Nanooks earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Eagle River has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 26-9 record this season. As for Nome-Beltz, the win got them back to even at 8-8-2.

Looking ahead, Eagle River will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bettye Davis East Anchorage at 8:00 p.m. As for Nome-Beltz, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bartlett on the 27th.
