Baseball Recap: Grovetown Has No Trouble Against Rockdale County

Grovetown had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Rockdale County on Tuesday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Boston Rowan, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Grovetown's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-13 when he doesn't). Brodie Combs was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Grovetown's record now sits at 10-13. As for Rockdale County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-15.

Rockdale County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Cedar Shoals on the 2nd. Hopefully Grovetown payed attention to the Bulldogs' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
