Softball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short

Polk County extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Paul Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Slammers of the 8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Jazlyn Ramirez-Catlan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for St. Paul, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 26, 2024.

On St. Paul's side, Brooklyn Heater tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Heater has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
