Softball Recap: Newnan Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Newnan unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 14-1 to the Central Lions on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered against the Lions since August 19, 2021.

Newnan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cambree Thompson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Newnan will square off against Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Rockmart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
