Baseball Recap: Dade County Comes Up Short

Dade County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 15-7 to the Gordon Lee Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 on Wednesday.

Evan Mims was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Nikk Moreland was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Dade County's loss dropped their record down to 5-23. As for Gordon Lee, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-2 record this season.

While Dade County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
