Basketball Recap: Johnsonburg Comes Up Short

Johnsonburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 50-31 fall against the Clarion-Limestone Lions. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while the Lions are ranked 284th).

Clarion-Limestone found their leader in sophomore Hannah Beggs, who went 7 of 17 en route to 16 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Beggs has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kalyssa Ferguson, who posted five points along with six boards and four steals.

Johnsonburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Clarion-Limestone, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnsonburg will face off against DuBois Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. DuBois Central Catholic will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Johnsonburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clarion-Limestone, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Clarion Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarion Area has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Clarion-Limestone will come in with three straight victories.
