Basketball Recap: Moreau Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Mission San Jose

Moreau Catholic's and Mission San Jose's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Moreau Catholic turned on the heat in the second half with 43 points. The Moreau Catholic Mariners claimed a resounding 57-28 victory over the Mission San Jose Warriors. Given the Mariners' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Warriors are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The dominant performance gave Kirkwood a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahlaysia Atkins, who scored 13 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.
