Preview: Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers vs. Bethlehem Center Bulldogs
The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers will be home for the holidays to greet the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chartiers-Houston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Chartiers-Houston beat California 45-36. Given Chartiers-Houston's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while California is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chartiers-Houston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amelia Brose, who scored 14 points along with seven steals. Brose also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Mia Mitrik, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Bethlehem Center was beaten by Waynesburg Central 49-17 on Monday.
Chartiers-Houston now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bethlehem Center, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Chartiers-Houston against Bethlehem Center in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 58-23 victory. Does Chartiers-Houston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bethlehem Center turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
