Basketball Recap: Granada Hills Charter Comes Up Short

Granada Hills Charter and Hamilton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Granada Hills Charter had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Hamilton Yankees 73-32. The Highlanders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.

Despite the loss, Granada Hills Charter still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Badua, who posted 18 points. That's the most points Badua has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Araceli Gonzalez, who earned nine points.

Kinidi Curl was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 30 points and nine assists for Hamilton. Curl is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Jade Fort was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Granada Hills Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Hamilton, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 25-1.

Granada Hills Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harbor Teacher at 5:00 p.m. on March 4th. One thing working in Harbor Teacher's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups. As for Hamilton, they have already played their next game, a 67-47 win against Palisades on the 25th.
