Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. James Academy). They strolled past the Blue Valley West Jaguars with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 39-24. The victory was nothing new for the Thunder as they're now sitting on six straight.

St. James Academy was led to victory by Jake House and John Hornback. House rushed for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Hornback rushed for 90 yards and two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. James Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 302 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for St. James Academy, adding 13 points to the final score. Brayden Stoker delivered a perfect 3-3 game.

Although Blue Valley West took the loss, they still got scores from Kian Lammers, Jett Nagy, and Youqub Abdumalikov.

St. James Academy's record is now 7-1. As for Blue Valley West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

St. James Academy has already played their next contest, a 57-28 win against Shawnee Heights on the 31st. As for Blue Valley West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-35 victory against Shawnee Mission East on the 31st.
