Baseball Recap: Highland Triumphs

Highland came out on top against Thunder Ridge on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Rams won by a run and slipped past the Titans 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Titans on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Garrett Grayson looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.

On the hitting side, Kai Jones was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Highland's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 10-11 when he doesn't). Andrew Scott was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Highland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Highland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Thunder Ridge, they now have a losing record of 11-12-1.

Highland has already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Madison on the 27th. As for Thunder Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-4 win against Canyon Ridge on the 25th.
