Basketball Game Preview: Red Bluff Spartans vs. Yreka Miners

The Red Bluff Spartans will square off against the Yreka Miners at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Bluff is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Friday, Red Bluff was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-38 to Shasta. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 584th, while the Wolves are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, Yreka suffered their closest loss since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Anderson by a score of 49-47.

Yreka has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Red Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
