Recap: La Quinta Aztecs vs. Santiago Cavaliers
The La Quinta Aztecs lost against the Santiago Cavaliers on January 12th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. La Quinta took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santiago. La Quinta has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why La Quinta lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katelyn Vo. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and two steals. Vo hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Kaitlyn Mai was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
La Quinta's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Santiago, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-16 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Quinta will face off against Rancho Alamitos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Alamitos is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Santiago, they will head out on the road to square off against Loara at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loara is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
